Artists are the reason Asheville Area Arts Council exists! AAAC defines the term “artist” broadly to encapsulate all those who work creatively. The artists we serve include but are not limited to:
- visual artists
- craft artists
- dancers & choreographers
- writers, from novelists to poets to playwrights
- actors
- musicians & composers
- new media artists
- graphic & web designers
AAAC seeks to serve artists through:
- Programs like City of 1000 Easels & the Creative Sector Summit
- Business and professional development workshops and classes
- Access to the Asheville Area Arts Council Gallery for exhibition & workshop space
- Communication about artist opportunities via our website, social media & email newsletters
