The Asheville Area Arts Council & The Altamont are proud to present Tangerine Tango: An Evening of Fashion & Dance on Thursday, August 23 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. The evening will be hosted & produced by Laila Boggs, style expert.
A variety of local designers and retail shops will be showcased at this event, which serves as a kick-off for the Asheville Area Arts Council’s Tangerine Ball, and is part of a series of parties on September 15, 2012. This event serves as an opportunity for local designers to showcase their wears and have an opportunity to not only sell their work but get commissions for gowns & costumes for the BIG party for the night of the September 15th!
The lovely & talented Sonia Hendrix from Push Productions is the official Tangerine Ball MC. A live runway show will take place outside the Altamont Theatre on Church St. and will feature many local designers, including Luna la Noir Designs by Lindsay Hoyes, Liz White Couture, Simone Bernard, Unabashed Apparel by Sarahbeth Larrimore, Joanne Chan, Amy Vs. Fabric, Lush Life Originals by Alexis Gault, Soul Fresh by Shannon Covart, and many more. The Honeypot, The Costume Shoppe, Royal Peasantry, Union Boutique, The Circle and Hip Thrift are among the retailers for the fashion event.
Taking the stage at at Altamont Theater will be a variety of local dance performances. Blue Spiral Tango and Asheville Ballet are both involved with providing talent for the evening.
Danielle Travers of West One Salon is one of our featured hairstylists for this event. Make up will be provided by both Clinique & the makeup artists at Dillards. Scott Thompson, Zack Russell and Heather Smith of Makeup at the Grove Arcade will also be sharing their talents.
A panel of distinguished judges will select best of show designers to be featured and interviewed on the Tangerine Ball’s main stage on September 15th. This is a fashion event not to be missed. Did we mention it is FREE to attend? This will be the hottest fashion event of the season so mark your calendar & bring your camera!
