Abstract Painting – Puzzle it Out!

Are you keen to try abstract painting? Start out the winter with some expressive fun. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! In this guided class you will explore the methods of the great 20C abstract artists. The first lines in your painting are the edges of your paper! Go from this concept to ideas about interlocking shapes, creating depth, “Push Pull” and make some engaging abstract works in just a day. We will look at the methods of the famous teacher and artist Hans Hoffman to lead us in our explorations! Take home some finished pieces.
Experiencing Watercolor Intensives with Lorelle Bacon
$75 per class, both in the month for $135 full days, 10-4,
Feb 9 and 21 – Portraits
Mar 7 and 21- Painting Glass
Apr 6 and 18 – Spring Flowers
Beginners and Up… Each month we will be focusing on a different subject to master in watercolor. Students will become confident and at ease while mastering these subjects. We will be building a lot of enthusiasm and camaraderie during this time together. Two all day classes a month!
Painting the Winter Landscape
Thurs Feb 28th, 10-4, $125
With Jo Ridge Kelley
We will explore techniques using oil pigments to create a glowing serene, snowy winter landscape. Working with the palette knife, we will add the final textural effects.
Going Farther with Encaustics with Bet Kindley
Fri Feb 22nd from 10-4:30 Tuition $100 + $35 for most materials.
Have some fun with egg shells, rusting techniques, nature prints, glue burns and more!. Some experience necessary. Beginning Encaustics with Bet or other beginning instruction will prepare you for this class!
