A fundraiser for the AAAC
Thanks to everyone who showed their support for the Asheville Area Arts Council and the arts councils of the Western Counties by donating your work! We are processing the all the amazing applications, those selected for the Postcard Show will be contacted soon.
As a special thank you, The AAAC is entering all Buncombe County artists who were kind enough to submit a proposal for our Postcard Show to win free registration to the Southern Entrepreneurship in the Arts Conference. SEA’s mission is to provide practical resources to help aspiring artists gain the entrepreneurial knowledge and skills needed to establish and maintain a career as an independent artist. By participating in the exhibit, you would be creating a piece of two-dimensional art on a 4 x 6 watercolor paper and donating it to the Asheville Area Arts Council and to WAANC. Your art will be framed under glass in 12” x 12” elegant black shadow box frames. The art will be sold for $70 and the proceeds will be shared by the Asheville Area Arts Council, the arts council where it is sold, and WAANC. You, as a contributing artist, will be acknowledged as an artist sponsor of the 2013 Postcards Exhibit, your work will be viewed by thousands in an eight-county region and if you choose, your biography and contact information will be made available to all those who inquire.
By agreeing to participate, you grant WAANC and the participating arts councils all rights to the art you donate, including the right to use the art for promotional purposes. Following notifications, you will receive 2 sheets of postcard paper, watercolor papers may be picked up at the Asheville Area Arts Council. Your art work is due by February 15th 2013, and the show begins in April 2013. The Buncombe County show will be at the AAAC Gallery of the Asheville Area Arts Council in June.
