Calling on Asheville area artists.  TEDxUNCAsheville is a student-run organization on UNCA’s campus that organizes TED-like events for students and the Asheville community.  We are dedicated to the concept that ideas are worth spreading.  This year TEDxUNCAsheville has planned an art initiative that we call ‘ Project X’.  With this project, we wanted to have the community be able to share their ideas, passions, and dreams through an art installation on the set of our 2018 event “Love, Music, and Other Drugs” on March 3rd.  We have cut out about 150 six-inch by six-inch foam x’s and will be distributing them across Asheville to schools, the Arts Council, artists, and to UNCA students to decorate with their passions.
If you are an Asheville artist and interested in ‘Project X’ you may pick up an x at the Asheville Area Arts Council during normal business hours (Monday – Friday 10 am – 5 pm), but hurry there are only a limited number of x’s.  If you have any further questions about the project you may contact the project organizer, Nathan Butcher, at  Please have your x’s decorated and turned back into the arts council by February 26th. Instructions may be found below.
